Bangladesh Riots:- In the last few weeks, we have seen some visuals showing police and people fighting with each other. Hundreds of Bangladesh protestors, demanding civil services hiring reform from the govt. They are still fighting with Cops who tried to suppress the voices of Bangladesh students and people. The police fired rubber bullets to stop them and suppress their voice. Then Bangladesh people and students chased the retreating officers to BTv’s headquarters in Bangladesh’s capital city Dhaka. 1. What is the reason behind protests in The Battleground Bangladesh? The main reason behind the protests/riots in Bangladesh. A reservation for the freedom fighter descended. As of now the reservation for merit is 93% for freedom fighter descendants 5%, and 1%. For PWD, tribes, and sexual minorities. So now they are demanding to increase the reservation. Freedom fighters’ descendants from 5% to 30% but Bangladesh refused to do so. 2. When did the protest in Bangladesh get sparked? In the hearing of the appellate and the protest. A statement came from Ms. Hasina’s side that. “the Bangladesh people/protestors who opposed the quota of the freedom fighters. Families are treated as ‘razakars’ or traitors who helped the Pakistani army back in 1970’s”. This statement a spark in the students and people of Bangladesh and they demanded apologies. Ms. Hasina then started protests in Bangladesh. Then the ruling party of Bangladesh gives orders to the police and rapid action battalion to hunt down the protestors. 3. How many casualties to date? In every riot, so many innocent people die and were injured. During the Bangladesh riots also many people lost their loved ones. According to the report 115 people have been killed to date and thousands of people have been injured. 4. Do Bangladesh riots affect Indian students? According to MEA 778 students returned to India via various land routes. Around 200 students returned via regular flights from Dhaka. MEA is still coordinating with civil aviation Immigration. BSF for the smooth passage for the Indians who were stuck there in Bangladesh.
