MLC 2023 Final: Nicholas Pooran put up a superlative effort with the bat to help MI New York clinch the first-ever Major League Cricket title on Sunday. MI New York won the toss and put Seattle Orcas into bat. Quinton de Kock looked in prime touch as he struck Jessy Singh for consecutive boundaries in the second over. However, Rashid Khan sent De Kock’s opening partner Nauman.

At Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, MI New York defeated Seattle Orcas by seven wickets thanks to the wicketkeeper-batter’s 137 runs off 55 balls. MI Before pursuing their goal in only 16 overs, New York held Seattle Orcas to 183/9. MI Imad Wasim dismissed Steven Taylor in their third delivery of the first over, giving New York a rough start. But when Pooran hit consecutive sixes off Wasim’s bowling in the same over, he made his intentions for the evening quite apparent. When he struck Dwaine Pretorius for three sixes and two boundaries in the third over, the West Indian showed off his excellent form.De Kock and Shubham Ranjane put up a brilliant partnership of 51 runs from 24 balls to boost Orcas’ total to 142/4 in 16.1 overs after Heinrich Klaasen’s early exit. Orcas continued to lose wickets often, but Dwaine Pretorius’ cameo of 21 runs in 7 balls allowed his team to put up a sizable total.

Pooran didn’t seem like he would miss a ball today. We put up a respectable total, but today we have to give them credit. The initial MLC season has been successful.
